Description
Our Canvas range of unfinished wood flooring is ideal for homeowners who want to create a distinctive and personalised style in their homes. Unlike our Kaleido range of prefinished wood coverings, which can be stained, brush-finished, or coated with lacquer, unfinished flooring allows greater customisation and flexibility to match the end user’s expectations and unique design needs. It also allows the customers to see the natural grain pattern and grading of the wood before the sanding and finishing process of the veneer.
We provide grading information for all our boards from our experienced veneer grader to ensure the product’s undertone and characteristics match our customers’ expectations. For our unfinished G12 Canvas range of flooring, grading is an important element and should be checked upon before the finishing work. Generally speaking, for a higher-grade board, you can expect a cleaner veneer with fewer to no knots and fillers, and vice versa. It should be noted that grading information serves not as a quality reference but only as a character reference. The structure and finishing quality remain consistent throughout our products, and in most scenarios, a lower grading board will not affect the undertone of the flooring as a whole. Compare to planks, herringbone boards rarely get any large dead knots due to the size of the tree it is sourced from, therefore grading information is mostly a reference on the degree of colour variations. For further grading details, please check our grading table.
AB grade is a lower grade than our prime offering but overall still retains a clean, smooth board presentation. Pin knots and small sound knots are allowed as long as they are not visually intruding on the undertone and character of the board. Sapwood is generally unnoticeable and may only appear on the board’s edge. Colour variation control is kept in the same principle of the prime grade which is minimal.
This product’s hand sample is available upon request. However, the intended purpose is for structural reference only and because of its unfinished nature, the simple piece does not represent the final finished flooring.
